I began to learn Bharatanatyam as a student of Shivashakti Kalananda Dance Theater (art director: Ms. Panka Somi, grad. Kalakshetra Dance Academy, Chennai) in 1993. Since 2000 I was an active member of our Dance Theater, taking part of many performances and theatrical productions, and participated in the organization of various cultural programs as well.
In 2019 our family moved to Berlin, Wilhelmsruh. I would like to continue my dancing and dance teaching profession here because Bharatanatyam is an integral part of my life.
My dance teachers: Panni Somi, Shanty Rayapoullé, T. Saravanan, C. Mariappane, Shyamala Surendran
Beginning of dance studies: 1993
First solo appearance (Arangetram): 2001
In addition to Bharatanatyam, I also studied Odissi (two courses with Vera-Viktoria Szirmay, Austria), Mohiniyattam (a course with Shyamala Surendran, India) and Kathak (a course with Rajendra Gangani and Swati Sinha, India).
I visited Pondicherry, India five times for further Bharatanatyam studies: 2003-2004 and 2005: Shanty Rayapoullé, 2006: T. Saravanan and 2008: C. Mariappane
Beyond dance I studied Hungarian Language and Literature at the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest (MA 2003) and Indian Studies at ELTE (MA 2004).
For one year (2003-4) I was a visiting student of the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) at Pondicherry University, where I studied ancient Indian drama. During this year I started studying the classic Tamil language: I participated in the Classical Tamil Winter (once Summer) School in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008.
